A NEW VISION FOR THE

LORAIN COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY

Greetings, fellow Republicans of Lorain County,

As members of the Lorain County Republican Party, we share a commitment to upholding the values of integrity, honesty, and ethical leadership. Yet, in recent times, it has become increasingly evident that our party is in need of change.

We need leaders who will run the Lorain County Republican Party lawfully, morally, and ethically. We need individuals who will not resort to lies, schemes, conniving tactics, or smearing campaigns against those they disagree with. Instead, we need leaders who will engage in honest and respectful discourse, even when faced with difficult decisions or disagreements.

It is essential that our leaders do not ignore or roll over members of the County Central Committee. Every member of our party deserves to have their voice heard and their concerns addressed. Our leaders should strive to make the best use of the talents and diverse perspectives that surround them, fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment within our party.

When a party is perceived as crooked or unethical, it breeds suspicion and paranoia, undermining our collective efforts and eroding public trust. We must reject deals made in secret to manipulate or coerce members of the central committee, as this creates an uneven playing field for Republican candidates and dissuades good individuals from seeking office.

If our current leadership fails to uphold these principles, I promise to step up and challenge them. It pains me to witness our party being run unethically and illegally, failing to live up to its potential due to the actions of those who are addicted to power and status.

We cannot tolerate leaders who spread gossip and falsehoods, or who rely on the work of others without contributing themselves. We must demand more from our party and its leadership. Together, let us work towards a brighter future for the Lorain County Republican Party—one characterized by integrity, transparency, and a commitment to the greater good.

Sincerely,

Jon Morrow

WHAT I AM ABOUT

Let me be candid, the Lorain County Republican Party is a disaster. Its gross underperformance is due to a lack of leadership and Central Committee members not knowing their rights or their purpose.

The Party is in desperate need of new bylaws that empowers membership to maintain control of the party and not illegally hand the power of control over to an executive committee.

To be absolutely clear - the executive committee answers to the Central Committee. The executive committee lives within the guardrails that the central committee provides. It is outlandish that leaders of the Central Committee do not know the laws under which the county party and Central Committee are organized. Equally, it is bizzare that for years the Central Committee has only met once every 4 years to elect an all powerful Executive Committee and Steering Committee.

It is absolutely ridiculous that this practice has not ended years ago because Ohio law does not support this structure - but if this practice does not end with a new incoming Central Committee - I will use my talents and resources in civil litigation to sue the party and restore power to the County Central Committee.

Just as a body infected with cancer cannot thrive - we need to cut out the cancer so we can begin building passion and dominate the political landscape in Lorain, Ohio.

TRUMP IS NOT EVERYONE'S CUP OF TEA.

As an avid supporter of President Donald Trump and his policies, I acknowledge his charisma and effectiveness as a leader, although I recognize there are areas for improvement. While I find him to be one of the most engaging and entertaining presidents in recent memory, I believe his style could benefit from a touch more humility. Trump has always said he is not a politician - and we don't need another politician now - we need Trump with all his earthly flaws.

Nevertheless, I hold a profound admiration for the late President Ronald Reagan, whose exceptional communication skills and unwavering dedication to American values continue to inspire generations. In my view, Reagan's ability to uplift the nation's spirit and foster patriotism remains unparalleled.

As a dedicated member of our political party, I am committed to steering away from the politics of personal attacks and mudslinging. Instead, I am focused on cultivating a platform centered on substantive policies and solutions that resonate with the American people. It is imperative that our candidates not only share their personal stories but also articulate their concrete plans for advancing our country.

We must move beyond the era of empty rhetoric and divisive tactics. It's time to elevate our discourse and demonstrate the true essence of leadership, integrity, and service to the nation. Together, we can build a brighter future for all Americans.

LORAIN COUNTY HAS TREMENDOUS POTENTIAL

I am deeply committed to fostering growth and prosperity in our area, but I believe that the biggest obstacle we face is the presence of underperforming and unpopular political parties on both sides of the aisle. Additionally, the unfortunate reality is that some individuals involved in politics in Lorain County exhibit behavior that is childish, petulant, and lacking in virtue.

To truly unlock our region's potential, we must address these issues head-on. It is imperative that we hold accountable those who spread rumors, perpetuate falsehoods, and engage in unnecessary backbiting. This behavior only serves to undermine our collective progress.

I am encouraged by the many good people who have stepped forward to run for the County Central Committee. However, it is evident that there is a need for greater understanding of the rights and responsibilities of committee members. As Chairman, I pledge to provide educational resources and training to ensure that every member of the County Central Committee is equipped to fulfill their duties effectively.

Together, let us strive for a politics of integrity, respect, and responsibility. By working collaboratively and upholding the highest standards of conduct, we can build a brighter future for Lorain County.

POLITICAL RIGHTS

As a Republican, we must understand and assert our political rights within the party structure. While many of us know of our Constitutional rights, political rights tend to be unknown or overlooked by the politically active. Political rights, unlike our Constitutional rights — granted to us by fellow humans through political processes—often go overlooked. However, it is very crucial to be aware of what our political rights are.

Many of us may not fully grasp our political rights within the party because as far as I can tell - like most Ohioans - Lorain Republicans have not been granted any political rights. Unlike legal obligations, there is no mandate for transparency regarding how your political representatives vote or even having the right to contact your political representative. Additionally, financial disclosures for campaign funding are not mandatory in Ohio, raising concerns about conflicts of interest.

Unlike other governmental bodies, central committee members are not subject to Ohio's ethics laws, sunshine laws, public records requests, or non-profit laws.

When the members of the Central Committee do not provide for our political rights in their bylaws, we must aggressively advocate for comprehensive set of bylaws that grants registered Republicans the oversight necessary to hold the party and its candidates accountable. We can no longer trust benevolent Republican dictators that want all of the power but none of the responsibility. Good governance hinges on strong political parties that foster trust, participation, and integrity within the political process.

Unfortunately, the Ohio Republican Party, including its State Central Committee and 88 County Central Committees, has been criticized for its failure to provide adequate rights to its members, lagging behind other states in this regard. As patriotic citizens and committed Republicans, it is our duty to address these deficiencies and uphold the principles of transparency and accountability within our party.
